This painting feature's the elegant Brown Trout that inhabit the tailwater Bighorn River in Fort Smith, Montana. I worked on capturing the brilliant fall colors of a big Brown awaiting the riffles in the famous Aquarium Hole. Below the surface I worked to create an aquatic feel of an algae filled rock bottom, with a few rays of gleaming light the river truly came to life. Through the process of my first oil painting I opened up my techniques using a palette knife and thick amounts of color. With layers upon layers of oil colors the original painting has a good texture and brilliant glow, it is available measuring 10x20 inches, Limited Edition Giclée Prints are also offered.
